Emily will help you discover what works for you, she understands that the recovery journey is a process and we all walk our own individual path. She'll share with you the tools that were most potent in her own healing journey such as the HALT method, the "Play the tape out" strategy, yoga practices, meditations and breathing techniques. She will make suggestions during your program and tell you to "take what you like, and leave the rest." She will never force you to do anything you are not comfortable with or make you feel guilty or shameful, as she has experienced these feelings in the past while working with others.
She will help you cultivate daily rituals that will support you on your healing journey. Part of her own transformation was discovering what worked for her by trying an array of recovery methods. Emily has been on the recovery journey for 15 years and has attended countless Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, Refuge Recovery meetings, outpatient support groups and more! She has so much wisdom to share from these experiences but understands that there is not "one way," to sobriety and will support you on your choices. (aka not going to meetings)
She understands that "you are not ready until you are ready," and the process is different for each and and every person. She will honor your process if you decide this isn't the path for you. Emily is extremely caring and compassionate and knows that overcoming addiction can be a very tender and difficult time. Also, each program is customizable to meet your needs with an option to add additional coaching calls if needed.
What people are saying:
"Sobering up is a selfish process and I mean that in the best way possible because it is one of the best things I’ve done for myself. It’s also one of the most emotional and challenging things I’ve ever experienced. In a friendship/coaching relationship it’s hard to not feel like a drain on the other party. Emily was so supportive, positive and understanding, I never felt as though I was bothering her, which is something I was worried about! Having her support really made a difference in my success and lightened the load. She is so bright, helpful and caring. She’s an amazing person! Stick with it, it’s so worth it and life keeps getting better!" -Anonymous
"How do you show gratitude to someone who saved your soul? On November 26, 2017 - Emily helped me connect to the person that I've been longing to be for a long time. Emily had been sober for 6 months at that time and I kept looking at her posts thinking to myself- "I want to live a sober life like her". She looked so free, so happy, and finally where she was meant to be. I wanted that feeling.
A night out of not wanting to go home and embarrassing my family and significant other lead me to reach out to Em. See, we had known each other since Middle school but lost touch after high school. However, we both got dealt with the hand that couldn't make us stop drinking. What a shitty hand to be dealt, huh? No, not really. I am who I am today because of the experiences that lead me here, and Emily has shown me that time after time. I reached out to her and she helped me become sober. She pushed me in the darkest days, kept encouraging me just get through the first 3 months- after that it will be get easier. She checked in with me, made sure I was on the right track all because she cares to help others overcome this addiction head on. She has encouraged me. Made me believe I am someone that I was meant to be and I just had to dig deep and find her. Every day I thank god that I reconnected with Emily.
With the grace of god and with her ever encouraging mindset and spirit our paths crossed- and to today I am so proud of her and her willingness to help others on the path of sobriety. She kept telling me - "One day at a time." Keep repeating that to yourself. It's almost been two years now.. and how do I show my saving grace gratitude for saving my soul? I stay sober, and I keep repeating her mantra that was passed down from all those that have suffered before us. Thank you, Emily from the deepest depths of my soul. Your bravery and encouragement will lead others into the path that they were meant to follow. Gratitude is my word for you."

"I met Emily in Madison what feels like a lifetime ago. I had reached out to her after she moved out west to tell her that she was an inspiration to me because it seemed like we had similar struggles. She was able to overcome those struggles and it gave me hope for myself. After that she checked in with me regularly to see how I was doing. Although we had never been the closest of friends, when I had felt that I was at rock bottom she was one of the only people who was actually there for me. She was so easy to talk to and it made me feel like I wasn't so alone. Having her support and seeing her strength gave me the courage to get myself into treatment and start living a better life. It means everything to me to know that I have someone in my life who won't judge me and is supporting me every step of the way. She had the ability to see the good in me when I couldn't even look myself in the mirror. I am so grateful to have her in my life."
